Refrigeration Industry shows new orientations towards real estate, intelligence and environmental protection.

The White Paper of the Development of China’s Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Industry in 2016 issued by China Refrigeration and Air conditioning Industrial Association during the China Refrigeration Exhibition in Shanghai shows that in 2016, China’s refrigeration and air conditioning industry realized a total industrial output value of nearly RMB 600 billion. Refrigeration Industry shows new orientations towards real estate, intelligence and environmental protection.

According to the report of the Xinhua News Agency on 17 April, for the whole heating ventilation air conditioning (HVAC) industry, a large part of its growth is closely related to the development of the construction industry, and the real estate has a decisive influence on the growth rate of the industry. However, many industry enterprises believe that the current industry’s dependence on real estate is decreasing. Data center, medicine, cold chain logistics, industrial low grade heat recovery and other fields have provided new domains for refrigeration and HVAC products.

“In the area of commercial construction, most of the projects 7 to 8 years ago were concentrated in office buildings, factories, government facilities and infrastructure, etc. However, in recent years, new types of buildings are developing faster and faster in the segment market of commercial building, such as data center and hospital. The development trend is constantly changing.” said Shu Ruosi, president of international operations of environment, control and security of United Technology. China’s air conditioning business is becoming less reliant on the construction industry.

Lin Huanyu, securities analyst of China Securities pointed out that recently regulation and control measures for first and second-tier cities real estate are released, imposing restraint on the demand for air conditioner industry, whereas in third and fourth-tier cities, due to the boosted sales of early stage, there is a lag period in air conditioning sales, so the air conditioning industry is less affected. In the mid and long term, the influence of real estate regulation is weak, and the growth space of refrigeration industry is still significant.

The White Paper of China’s Smart Air Conditioner Market in 2016 issued by SIC (State Information Center) shows that in 2016, the sales volume of domestic smart air conditioners increased by 10.7% year on year, accounting for 19.2% of the total air conditioning market. It is predicted in the White Paper that domestic sales of smart air conditioners will remain at double-digit growth rates in 2017, going up from 12% to 15%.

At present, most enterprises have made vigorous efforts in intelligence. Chen Cheng, engineer of Nanjing Tianjia Air-conditioning introduced that nowadays the air conditioning unit product has realized the control by Internet of things, which means simply put the mobile phone card into the air conditioner in some refrigeration plant room and the data will be transmitted to the terminal. “We can control the whole nation’s unit project at headquarters, remotely analyze the cooling and heating temperature of the machine room, and maintain its operation.” Chen Cheng said.

Household air conditioners in homes can also be intelligently controlled via mobile phones. Liang Li from business department of commercial air conditioning of Zhuhai Gree Electric Appliance (32.910,0.00,0.00%) introduced that through WIFI connection, people can remotely control their own air-conditioning switches, and temperature, etc. The cloud data analysis function also makes the home air conditioning become intelligent, with functions such as automatically turning on air conditioning when indoor temperature is over 27°C, and automatically turning on dehumidification function when humidity is over 80%, etc.
